Dr. Benzinger is the Hugh Monroe Wilson Professor of Radiology and Neurological Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where she serves as the Medical Director for MRI services at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) St. Louis and Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Dr. Benzinger leads the Knight Alzheimer Research Imaging (KARI) Program, which serves as the imaging core for the Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center and is the Imaging Core Director for the international studies of autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease (AD), the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network (DIAN) and the DIAN-Therapeutic Unit (DIAN-TU). Dr. Benzinger’s lab pioneers translational PET and MR imaging to investigate imaging biomarkers for healthy aging and Alzheimer disease, and works to translate these into research studies, clinical trials, and clinical practice. Dr. Benzinger co-chairs the American Society for Neuroradiology (ASNR) Alzheimer Disease, ARIA and Dementia Study Group, the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Quantitative Imaging Committee (QuIC), and is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association ARIA Working Goup.
